If I click the message and do the scan everything comes up clean, so I'm not concerned that I have viruses or that the system is not being monitored, at least Is Windows Defender doing it's scheduled scans? Is it possible that since my computer is powered down at bed time that the scheduled scan is skipped (and not started next morning when I power it up? Any theories about why this is and what, if anything, I should do about it? Its not really a problem but its just bothering me. Even if they were, why should it make me manually invoke Windows Defender to do a scan it recognizes needs to be done?
