For me it not that much of a problem as it only had a 2 hour battery life anyway. It used to shut off pretty darn quick after I unplugged. Whether the laptop does or does not have the battery inserted when plugged in, does not make any difference. I would think not, because of the battery, but please correct me if I'm wrong.Any help would be most appreciated. Here is the last report from the event viewer.

Despite doing this, there are times when the laptop won't power up. is not a good idea as it will not be well matched to the rest of the cells in number of charges left in those. Thanks in advance for your assistance. I did clean the connectors on the power supply, and near them I found a spot where something had freshly spilled.
Don't assume that update software updated them. I assume this discharges any errant electrons that might be pulling a gremlin on it. Right now, I have it plugged in and Power Options reports 89% available and not charging.
