SOLUTION FOR ME--->Went to Device Manager->Network Adaptors->Found my "wireless Network Adaptor (in my case an Atheros)->disabled it->and it went away in "Networks" on my laptop->then I "enabled" it->and viola, all my Access the properties of the wifi adapter (right click on network connection/properties/configure/Advanced tab).
