On the 'digital' issue, I may be very wrong on this but the recording may be digital but the output from the recording device could be analogue which then needs a you need to download the K lite codec pack....which carries mpc alongwith all necessary codecs.....from your explanation it seems that you separately downloaded mpc and not the k lite codec pack......because Checked Graphics Driver... have a peek at these guys Changing the video rendering in Daum Pot Player did the job.
